My job and education journey
Young Life
- My first job in high school was at McDonalds. I was fired for insubordination.
- Second job was at Kinney Shoes in the Concord Mall in Elkhart Indiana. I also did a month working for them in Gary Indiana after school. One of the most eye opening times in my life.
- Through out my 20’s I worked various factory jobs.
- The best one was as a layout guy for a van painting company.
- The worst was running a roll die machine for a year till I cut off a finger.
- On another job I nailed three fingers together with a nail gun and shut the factory down for a day when I damaged a water pump on the heating system
Then at age 32 I went to college
- I earned a bachelor of science in computer science with a minor in mathematics, a degree that provided me with a solid foundation in various programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and essential mathematical principles that enhance problem-solving skills in the field of technology.
- It took 4 years and I graduated with distinction and a 3.6 grade average
- This course correction completely turned my life around
- No more work related injuries!
- The work was now engaging
- More consistent income
- Most importantly college taught me how to learn and how to think logically!
The best job…Retirement at 62!
- I took painting – you can see my paintings at mind-sprung.com
- I found a great house in Arizona and moved in 2018, luckily before it became too expensive
- Not I have the greatest gift: time to do what I want
