I painted this as a birthday present for my dad who turned 93 in 2024. Mom passed away several years ago and he misses her every day, as we all do.
The painting is based on a black and white photo from that period. This was my first attempt at making a color painting from a BW photo. I had a lot of trouble at first because the digital copy I had was blurry. I finally obtained a clearer copy and was then able to finish. Lesson learned.
Though I am not really happy with how this one turned out my dad (mom passed) has it hanging on his kitchen wall and seems to like it.
