My Parents Early 50’s

16 x 20″ acrylic on canvas. I painted this as a birthday present for my dad who turned 93 this year. Mom passed away several years ago and he misses her every day, as we all do.

The painting is based on a black and white photo from that period. This was my first attempt at making a color painting from a BW photo. I had a lot of trouble at first because the digital copy I had was blurry. I finally obtained a clearer copy and was then able to finish. Lesson learned.
