Update: 1/23 This is the first painting I have revisited after publishing it. The perspective through the window was way off and bugged too much but I love the painting otherwise. The original can be seen below.

This painting is based on a photo I took near the Grand Canyon in 2014. I tried some new to me techniques :

Modeling paste: I used this on the rocks to give them some dimension. I am pretty happy with the way they turned out.

Crack Paint: I wanted to make the paint on the window frame look more weathered but it didn’t really work. I think I put it on too thin.

I called it Dali land because it feels to me like the kind of landscape Dali would have started with to create one of his surreal landscapes
