Old Clowns Are the Best Clowns

This painting evolved from a pour to a painting of Grock the Clown. I was doing a pour experiment using natural sponges. I didn’t like the way it turned out as a stand alone pour but I did feel that it looked festive and so was put in mind of a clown. I felt the black and white would look good on the complex colored background so I used an old black and white photo of Grock the clown as a reference. I hope you like it.
