Oak Moss on Fall Leaves

This painting is based on a photograph I took of a beautiful Oak Moss plant lying on a bed of fall leaves. The photo was taken in 2017 in Issaquah Washington where my son lived at the time.

This was a challenging piece since the leaves varied a great deal in texture and color. They also overlapped. The Oakmoss plant is very complex. I am only partially satisfied with how the plant turned out but I am very happy with the leaves.
