Untitled acrylic on canvas 14″ x 20″ art by Warren Deferbrache
This is my first shot at doing modern art as a painting.
The piece contains several techniques. I use modeling paste in places to provide some 3d feel. I also did a pour in places which had mixed results so much of it is painted over. I also started out to do faces with a pallet knife then smear the paint downward but that little experiment didn’t work out so I made the faces with a pallet knife and paint brush with no scraping.
When the painting was pretty far along I decided it looked like a graffiti wall so I added the spray cans at the bottom and the drain pipe on the left.
The words came in as I felt them as did the faces. I really tried to let this painting be feelings driven.
