9 x 12 Acrylic Painting by Warren DeFerbrache, 2021
A study in autumn’s delicate drama: tender mushroom stalks, rendered with intricate texture and dimension, emerge from a vibrant bed of fall leaves ablaze with warm yellows, burnt oranges, and deep russets. The fungal forms rise gracefully through the dense carpet of seasonal color, their surfaces alive with fine detail and tactile presence. Captured in acrylic, the composition captures that fleeting moment when the forest floor transforms into a rich tapestry where growth and decay intertwine—a meditation on nature’s quiet beauty during the season of transition.
