Torpedo, one tenacious goldfish

Reminiscing today about a goldfish I owned back in the 90’s which I ended up thinking of as Torpedo.  He received its name when the other fish ate all of his fins off.   He would go careening across my 10 gallon aquarium like and out of control torpedo!  It really was painful yet mesmerizing to watch.

Strange thing is that Torpedo out lived all the other fish in the aquarium.  I lost interest in keeping fish and so did not replace fish as they passed.  Torpedo kept on living his finless life and even grew a little.

I always felt vaguely guilty that I kept him alive and didn’t put him out of his misery.  On the other hand cutting his life short didn’t seem right when he had so much heart.  I don’t have a good memory of how he ended, he may have finally given up the ghost or I may have transferred him to the sewage system.  If the latter he may dwell there still; got any unexplained clogs?
